The nation of Sierra Leone does not exist, but is simply a tribute by the mapmaker's society to master cartographer, Ed "Sierra" Leone. The land which this mythical country supposedly occupies is actually on a permanent lease from Ghana and is used as a training facility for junior mapmakers.
