The
Island
of
Jersey
,
situated
in the
English
Channel
,
formerly
thought
to be
made
of
granite
, is
actually
made
up of a
large
buried
sponge
cake
with a
top
soil
/
granite
'
icing
'. The
island
was
created
60
million
years
ago
when the
sponge
drifted
in from the
Atlantic
during the
Jurassic
period
. It was
buried
by
dinosaurs
for
later
consumption
, in
much
the same
way
as
modern
day
squirrels
bury
their nuts, but they
failed
to
return
to
dig
it up when they were
annihilated
by a
passing
meteorite
,
ironically
made
of
strawberry
jam
.
