Due
to the
curvature
of the
Earth
, the
towers
of the
Humber
Bridge
are
4cm
further
apart
at the
top
than the
bottom
. The
engineers
could not
correct
for this by
simply
tilting
the
towers
towards
one
another
, as the
main
force
would no
longer
be
perpendicular
to
gravitational
pull
. They
therefore
had to
make
corrections
in
fifth
dimensional
space
, so that the
towers
appear
perfectly
parallel
to observers in
four
dimensional
space
-
time
.
