The traditional Christmas Turkey was introduced by space aliens who, unbeknown to Humanity, had been at war with the Turkeys for some 200,000 years. The aliens achieved partial success with the wholesale slaughter of turkeys for food but they themselves were rendered extinct due to their remarkable resemblence to cranberry sauce.
