Igloos originally came from the Greeks. They would use bricks to create small round houses for their peacocks. The eskimos only started to use the design in 1956, as a building for storing food. They then realised that the food wouldn't cool down very much, so decided to live in the fridge. They just added a hole in the top to let the smoke out from the indoor fires.
