The musician Sting is so named because he has a tail with a venomous point. Although normally docile and peace-loving, he has stung several people to death, including the other members of the Police, his wife Imelda Marcos, and Bill Giles, the BBC weatherman with whom he was entangled in a bitter dispute over mining rights in Haiti.
