Arthur C Clarke himself, after being honoured by the naming of his discovery "Clarke's Orbit" went on to discover the less well noted "Clarke's method for unblocking sinks with a coathanger" and the even more unweildy "Clarke's unified theory of why hedgehogs curl into a ball when you get near them instead of running like buggery". He has recently become involved with work on a perpetual motion machine and has had some success.
