The song "It's Raining Men" is based upon an actual event which occurred in the small Wiltshire village of Mutley in 10 AD. It is recorded in The Doomsday Book (appendix A, section 1.2) that " suddenlie thee heavens opend, and it did raine men from thee skye for many dayes, and indeed it was a great bigge mess"
