Vaudeville star Claude de Loot kept his mother in a suitcase when travelling between theatres. When questioned about this activity by a local newspaper reporter, Mr de Loot replied 'gonna lock her up in a trunk so no big hunk can steal her away from me'. That reporter went on to be Sir Cliff Richard.
