The original national anthem of Canada took some time to produce. "A Canada" through "N Canada" were dismal failures. Then MacKenzie MacKenzie, a defrocked Mountie from Lard Heights, Alberta, had a flash of inspiration one day while drinking maple syrup, and the rest is history.
