Confucius
include
the "
lost
analects
",
written
when the
sage
was
far
gone
in his
dotage
, and of which the only
extant
copy
was
found
recently
in a
rabbit
burrow
during
routine
excavations
by
sewage
workers
near
the
town
of
Fu
Xi
. The
writings
include
advice
and
exhortions
described
by
experts
Confucius
as "very
unusual
",
including
"
smearing
your
property
with
lard
deters
theft
" and the more
enigmatic
"when
travelling
,
always
carry
a
bucket
." The "
lost
analects
"
will
be
published
next
Spring
by
Harvard
University
Press
under their
original
title
"A
Bag
of
Rain
."
