It is a well known fact that an unrevoked medieval law still allows an Englishman to kill a Welshman after dusk using a bow and arrow against the walls of Chester. It is less well known that if he misses, the Englishman must forfeit his spleen which the Welshman can then present the next time he gets caught across the border late at night and go free in a medieval "get out of jail free" style.
