Cocktail
umbrellas were
invented
in
1922
during the
US
prohibition
period
with the
intention
of
preventing
people
from
pouring
alcoholic
beverages
into their
glasses
. They'
re
used
today
for
purely
nostalgic
reasons
and by
rats
to
keep
dry
.
