Not many people know that Britain's longest-running soap was based on the Iranian TV show "Koran Nation Street." Granada's attempts to replicate this success were, however, less favourable: planned versions of "Name That Dune", "Missing Persians", and "Dancing Sheik to Sheik" never got beyond their pilot shows.
