Under EU regulations to be enacted in 2012, Hamburgers can only be labelled as such if their patties are sourced from a quarry within a 12 kilometre radius of Hamburg. McDonalds are fighting this in the courts, because their patties are quarried on the outskirts of Dusseldorf.
