The name Hussein was held by the Hashemite kings of Jordan for many centuries, until Iraq's president Saddam won it off them in a game of Celebrity Spin the Bottle in 1988. It was forfeited to the US upon his execution, and to the great shame of many Arabs, it is now being used as a middle name by President Barack Obama.
