When travelling to the Moon, Apollo astronauts were not allowed to go to the toilet for up to four weeks. Apollo 16 Lunar Module pilot, Charlie Duke, nearly caused the mission to be aborted three hours before their return to Earth, when his duodenum swelled to three times its usual size.
