The first ipod was designed by Apple in 1974 it consisted of a 1972 Sprite Musketeer caravan inside of which was housed the K-Tel house band 'Hit Machine' who would play on demand any hit song as and when required in almost perfect mimicry. Apple grew quite exasperated as their phenomenon never caught on as they thought it would until the mid 90's when they finally developed a 'Shrink Ray'
