Beethoven was a composer who was never happy with his work and was contantly tinkering and fiddling with his compositions, each seperate change was then known as an 'amendment' and catalogued as such. The most famous of these was the fifth amendment of Beethovens Symphony No. 5 in C Minor (Op. 67) (1808) this is now better known as 'The Hollyoaks' theme tune.
