Rock and Roll was first invented by one Mr Bernard Skelmer, a baker from Sheffield who stumbled across the distinctive rhythms whilst mixing and preparing guitar-shaped biscuits for his folk-singing pals from the sweetened left-overs of rock-cake and bread roll mixtures.
